Dave Filoni working on again Star Wars animation again. This will generate either a huge cheer or a low moan depending on how you love yourself Starwars† As someone who considers Filoni, known as Lucas’s protégé, to be the future of the franchise, I’m personally excited to see him back in the animated space he loves so much.

stories of thejedi is an animated anthology series that takes its name from the famous Dark Horse Comics series from 1992. It will spotlight the stories of various Jedi in the Prequel era, and it has been confirmed that there will be episodes dedicated to both Mace Windu, Count Dooku and Qui-Gon Jinn. It has been confirmed that Liam Neeson will reprise his role as Qui-Gon, while his son Michael Neeson will voice the younger version of the character.

I hope for a Stories from the outside worldEdge show about the galaxy’s greatest villains to balance it out.

We know a Ahsoka series had been on the way for a while, but now we have a first look at the show. Just like the new one Mandalorian Season 3 teaser, the first Ahsoka teaser has only been shown to the public during Star Wars Celebration. Maybe one day it will see the light of day on YouTube.

Not only will the show be Ahsoka’s first solo live-action adventure, it will also resume the story Star Wars Rebels left open. On that show, Jedi-in-training Ezra Bridger made a significant sacrifice to cast both herself and the evil Grand Admiral Thrawn into the unknown reaches of the galaxy. This new show will focus on Ahsoka and Sabine Wren (played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo) long pursuit of what has become of Ezra.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Star Wars Jedi: Survivorthe anticipated sequel to Respawn Entertainment’s mega hit Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order released its first teaser trailer. It features the return of Cal Kestis and his buddy BD-1. The trailer shows Kestis locked in battle with a cloaked Sith, and the game’s well-known ship, the Stinger Mantis, in serious battle. We look forward to this one. Hopefully, Respawn can smooth out the rougher edges of the original and meaningfully iterate on its Soulsvania-lite approach. It is scheduled to launch in 2023 (so probably October-December next year).

Light & Magic is a Disney+ documentary series about Industrial Light & Magic. ILM is the special effects house founded by George Lucas to help him make a little movie called Star Wars† Its innovations changed the special effects in blockbuster movies forever, and it has worked on practically every major science fiction and fantasy film ever since. The documentary will consist of six parts and will trace the origins and personnel of the company, the process, its numerous innovations and breakthroughs and its current projects. It’s directed by someone who knows his own Star Wars very good, Lawrence Kasdan. Kasdan wrote: Raiders of the LostArkReturn of the Jediand co-wrote The power awakens. He also contributed major rewrites to: The Empire Strikes Backshaping it into the movie it is today.

Light & Magic debuts on Disney+ July 27.

The Mandalorian Season 3

Let’s take a look at Mando first. The Mandalorian will air its third season on Disney+ in February 2023. Although showrunners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni were on hand to talk about the show and shoot a brand new trailer. The trailer itself will not be released online. In a bit of a return to San Diego Comic-Con in the early 2010s, the trailer was just for the people in the room. However, our friends at Gizmodo were in the room, so we know what happened in the trailer.

The trailer features quite a few Mando and Grogu on a trip home to Mandalore. “You removed your helmet,” says The Armorer. “Worse, you did it of your own free will. You are no longer Mandalorian. Redemption is no longer possible since the destruction of our home world.”

“Your sect gave up Mandalore long before the purge,” says Bo Katan of Katee Sackhoff. “Where were you?”

Mando’s route is clear: he goes home to Mandalore to seek redemption. If he makes it, it will be the first time Mandalore has been represented in live action Star Wars media. Very exciting times.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Just a few weeks ago, the news broke that Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts worked on an Amblin style Star Wars show for Disney+. Now we know a little more about it.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, starring Jude Law, will focus on a group of children lost in the galaxy trying to find their way home. Expect a return to the movie Spielbergian, 80s kids-in-trouble like The Goonies† Straight away, Caravan of courage is kind of the closest approximation in the canon we can think of, but there’s definitely room for this kind of story in the Star Wars universe. The show has not yet started filming but is scheduled to air next year on Disney+.

The only big one Star Wars trailer we did get today was a teaser for Andorrathe Disney+ spin-off of Rogue One: A Star WarsStory† The trailer feels huge in tone and aesthetics Rogue One and only briefly is Cassian Andor by Diego Luna. The show is rather during the reign of the Empire Rogue One and A new hope and sheds light on the rebellion’s earliest, most nervous moments.

Andorra will premiere on Disney+ in August this year and will run for 12 episodes. The show has been confirmed for a second season, which will connect its story to the events of Rogue One

Not every facet of Star Wars Celebration is focused on Star Wars yourself. Rather, the show is a celebration of all that comes from the minds of George Lucas and Lucasfilm. For example, we got a look at a few new projects that are underway at LF. The first is of course the still untitled indian jones 5

The new film is directed by James Mangold (Logan) and follows the now elderly Henry Jones Jr. on a new adventure to stop Mads Mikkelsen’s villain. Antonio Banderas and Phoebe Waller-Bridge also star. Whether this will be Harrison Ford’s last appearance as Jones remains to be seen. John Williams returns to give the score.

This is just such a fun Star Wars Celebration homecoming. Willow is an often overlooked Lucasfilm classic, an imaginative story about an aspiring wizard named Willow, played by Warwick Davis. In this new Disney+ series, Willow comes out of retirement to help a group of brave young adventurers restore balance in a world mired in disorder and division. Willow will be released on Disney+ in November.

And that’s all we have for you from Star Wars Celebration so far! What are you most looking forward to? Was there anything you wish you were on the show this year? Sound off in the comments below, and may the Force be with you.
