Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics revealed today, Monday, an increase in the value of Egyptian exports to Djibouti, recording 82.3 million dollars during the first 10 months of 2021, compared to 59.8 million dollars during the same period in 2020, an increase of 37.5%; The value of Egyptian imports from Djibouti amounted to $4.3 million during the first 10 months of 2021, compared to $2.4 million during the same period in 2020, an increase of 79.2%.
The statistics indicated that the value of trade exchange between Egypt and Djibouti increased to $86.5 million during the first 10 months of 2021, compared to $62.2 million during the same period in 2020, an increase of 39.1%.
The value of remittances from Egyptians working in the state of Djibouti recorded $2.2 million during the fiscal year 2019/2020, compared to $2.4 million during the fiscal year 2018/2019, a decrease of 8.3%, while the value of remittances from Djiboutians working in Egypt amounted to $81 thousand during the fiscal year 2019/2020 compared to $ 185 thousand during the fiscal year 2018/2019, a decrease of 56.2%.
The value of Djiboutian investments in Egypt amounted to 48 thousand dollars during the fiscal year 2019/2020, compared to 111,000 dollars during the 2018/2019 fiscal year, a decrease of 56.8%.
The population of Egypt recorded 102.8 million people in 2021, while the population of Djibouti recorded one million people in 2021.
The number of Egyptians in Djibouti, according to the mission’s estimates, reached 300 until the end of 2020, while the number of Egyptians in Djibouti, according to those registered with the mission, was 46.
