Prince Harry is branded an evil son-in-law as Meghan Markle’s father struggles to recover from a potential stroke.
Thomas Markle was rushed to a local hospital in Mexico this week before being transferred to California after being unable to speak.
Royal pundit and columnist Richard Kay talks about Harry’s ‘failure’ to support his new father-in-law when he married Meghan in 2018.
Writing for the Daily Mail on Wednesday, he said: “It seemed then… [at the time of the Royal Wedding] – and it now seems – remarkable that proper efforts were not made to prepare Mr Markle for the news, provide him with an assistant to brief him or, better yet, fly him to London and put him under to bring in a royal house where he could have acclimated to the wedding before.
“But perhaps the most astonishing failure of all was Harry’s. Even now, four years later, it’s hard to understand why Harry didn’t meet his girlfriend’s father in person, as any future son-in-law would.
“There must have been countless opportunities for Harry (and Meghan) to pay a private visit to her father – long before he started giving interviews.”
Meghan’s half-sister Samantha blamed the Duchess for their father’s stroke during Dan Wootton on Wednesday.
“None of us have heard from Meghan – that’s negligence.
“He’s been through so much. Two heart attacks, a pandemic and now a stroke.”
Samantha added: “If she can’t find it in her heart, or has the moral conscience to step forward, shame on her.”
