Liverpool forward Sadio Mane will not reveal his future plans until after Saturday’s Champions League final against Real Madrid, the Senegalese international said on Thursday.
Mane, who came to Liverpool in 2016 and scored more than 120 goals for the Premier League club, considered leaving Jurgen Klopp’s side in search of a new challenge, according to reports.

“This question [about my future] I will answer after Champions League [final]whether I stay or not,” Mane, who still has one year left on his contract with Liverpool, told Sky Sports.
“What I want to say now is that I am fully focused on the Champions League and winning it, which is much more important for me and the Liverpool fans.
“That’s the answer I have to give for the final. But come back to me on Saturday and I’ll be sure to give you the best answer you want to hear. It’s special. I’ll give you everything you want to hear then.”
The 30-year-old underlined his full commitment to Liverpool for the final.
“I will do everything I can to win the game for Liverpool,” said Mane.
“I think we’ve all forgotten what happened in [the] 2018 [final]† Real Madrid were definitely the better team then and deserved to win the game, but it will be a different game [now]†
Madrid defeated Liverpool 3-1 in the 2018 Champions League final in Kyiv after goals from Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale (two) after Mane equalized for the Reds.
During his pre-match press conference, Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp dismissed speculation about Mane’s future in the strongest possible terms
“I don’t care about the rumors about Bayern Munich,” said Klopp. “Right now we are all completely focused on this game and Sadio is completely focused on this game. He knows exactly how important it is to him and how important it is to us.”
“Don’t worry, completely normal. It’s not the first time in my career that a rumor from Bayern Munich has popped up before a decisive game. I’m not exactly sure what I did for it to happen, but no problem at all.”
