Daniel Andrews has hit back at Rebecca Judd after the AFL WAG berated his government for not doing enough to fight crime in her upscale Melbourne suburb.

The Prime Minister dismissed her complaint that she felt unsafe in her $7.3 million Brighton mansion in an Instagram post on Thursday.

Judd claimed that the state government “didn’t seem to care” or do anything about the “gang rapes, bashings and home invasions in Bayside.”

“I’m not interested in arguing with Mrs Judd,” Andrews said on Sunday.

The prime minister said he was “not interested in arguing with Ms Judd” after she felt unsafe in her Brighton home on Instagram on Thursday.

“However, I should also point out that I believe there are over 70 additional police officers in the Bayside area, and the most recent crime statistics released by an independent agency would not support those sweeping assessments of crime patterns.”

Andrews said 500 additional police officers and 50 public service officials were deployed as part of May’s state budget.

“I say this with respect to Bec Judd or anyone else — I don’t want anyone to feel unsafe,” he said.

“I’m sorry she feels that way. The data would tell a different story, but it’s about personal feelings and your sense of security.

“I hope knowing those things, or maybe learning those things, puts her at ease.”

Judd lives in the sprawling townhouse in Brighton in the south east of the city with her husband, retired AFL star Chris Judd, and their four children.

Her home includes a gym, tennis court that converts into a footy oval or cricket pitch, and a magnesium salt bath.

There is also a spacious wet bar complete with a snooker table and bar.

Judd wrote in her Instagram post: ‘So sick of the gang rapes, bashings and home invasions in Bayside.

She posted CCTV footage of a group of young men lurking outside properties in her affluent suburb, claiming it made her feel “unsafe.”

The teens, allegedly armed with knives, were filmed lurking outside several properties in the Bayside area before crashing a stolen BMW into a tree.

Brighton Liberal MP James Newbury denounced Mr Andrew’s response, calling it a form of ‘victim blaming’.

“How dare Daniel Andrews attack a woman because she feels unsafe – what a creep,” he told The Herald Sun.

“His behavior is a lot like victim blaming.

“There have been three burglaries in Brighton this week, a police shooting and many more burglaries on local streets in recent months.”

Victoria Police launched Operation Ibis last week and has already arrested and charged 14 people.

Newbury claimed the residents were so scared they hired private security to protect them.
