The European Union excludes products for Apple and Microsoft from the rules of competition

The European Commission said that the Correspondence Service, “iMasdge” from “Apple” and the search browsers “Bing” and “Edge” from “Microsoft” should not be classified as “gate guards”, under the European Union’s digital market law.

This means that Apple will not be asked to provide the infrastructure of the special messaging of the competitors, for example, the iPhone maker displays the messages received from users who are not affiliated with Apple in green, unlike the “i -Masdge” messages that appear in blue.

A statement on Tuesday indicated that the decisions do not in any way affect the appointment of “Apple” and “Microsoft” as a gate guards on September 5, 2023 regarding their other statute services, according to “CNBC”.

Consequently, the basic systems services for the two companies will be treated as a gateway guards under the rules of the European Union, for example the Apple App Store and the cloud computing platform “Azur” from “Microsoft”.

The European Union imposes a number of strict requirements on large technology platform companies, which it classifies as “gate guards”, where competition organizers believe that their services should allow smaller competitors to reach them.
