How to make a password for a word file
Open the Word file you want to create a password for.
Click on the File tab.
Click on the “Info” option.
Click on the “Protect Document” button that appears on the Word file screen.
Choose the Encrypt with Password option that appears in the drop-down menu options.
Enter the password that you want to set to protect the document, then click on the OK button.
Confirm entering the password again, then click on the OK button.
It is preferable to set a complex password to protect the Word file, but the user must remember the password that he set, as if he forgets this password, there is no way to recover it or reset it again.
How to make a password for an excel file
The following steps explain how to create a password for an Excel file via the user’s computer: Click on the File option in the Excel document.
Choose the Protect Workbook option.
Choose the “Encrypt with Password” option.
Enter the password in the password box, then click on the OK option.
Enter the password again, then click OK again.
How to create a password for a PDF file
The following steps explain how to create a password for a PDF file and via the user’s computer: Open the PDF file through the reader (Acrobat DC).
Click on the File option.
Click on the “Protect Using Password” option.
Specify setting the password to prevent modification of the file, or setting it to prevent reading the file as well.
Type the password you want to put through the file, then confirm it again. Click on the Apply button.
Windows 10, Windows 8, and Windows 7 don’t include any way to set a password to a specific file or folder located across the operating system.
